Product Description
Names of early Homer Homesteaders are imprinted on this color topographic map of Homer, Alaska. Homesteaders lived a rugged, simple life. They gathered coal & seafood from the shores and harvested vegetables from their gardens. They hunted game and hauled firewood anywhere and anyway they could. They raised cattle, sheep, poultry, rabbits, foxes and even bees. They truly carved out a self-sufficient life for themselves. The information from which this map was derived, showing names of original patentees and those whose applications were never accepted, is dated September, 1946. A piece of Homer’s history, this large map file is 29.2 MB, and is available to download only, in TIFF format.
